Bird College Concert for SLCF
February 11, 2020On Saturday 1st February 2020, the Bexley Youth Band and the Little Big Band from Bird College preformed a concert in aid of the St Lawrence Charitable Fund, held at St Lawrence Catholic Church, Sidcup.
The 130 plus appreciative audience were treated to a delightful range of music that included music from film, theatre and the big band era. The conductors were Julie Stanning and Dave McAllister.
Joshua Clarke preformed an excellent clarinet solo of ‘I’ve Got Rhythm’.
The afternoon was a great success, with many positive comments made in the Community Centre after the concert where refreshments were served.
Many thanks to the thirty talented students, as well as to Julie Stanning, Assistant Principal (Music Services) for agreeing to organise a concert again, following on from last year’s success.
Many thanks to all that attended, and supported the charity.
The money raised for SLCF was £1260.
